The Celestial Pariah

The stars twinkled above her, casting a spell of enchantment upon her heart. Yet, there was a melancholy that lingered within her, a sense of not belonging to the celestial realm above or the earth below. She felt like a stranger in this world, like an outcast amongst the stars.

It wasn’t just her physical form that made her feel out of place, though she knew that was part of it. She was different, in ways that others couldn’t always see or understand. She had always felt like an outsider, always been made to feel like she didn’t fit in. But as she looked up at the stars, she realized that she didn’t want to fit in. She didn’t want to be just like everyone else. She wanted to be herself, unapologetically.

She thought of all the people who had made her feel like she was less than, simply because she was different. She thought of the way they had sneered at her, dismissed her, made her feel like she didn’t matter. But as she looked up at the stars, she knew that she did matter. She knew that every person, every being, had a place in the cosmos.

She closed her eyes and breathed in the night air, feeling the cool breeze brush against her skin. She was overflowing in empathy for all those who had felt like she did, all those who had been made to feel like they didn’t belong. But she also felt a sense of freedom, a desire to liberate herself from all past fears of judgment.

As she opened her eyes and looked up at the stars again, a wave of peace washed over her. She knew that she was different, that she would always be different. However, that was okay. She was a celestial pariah, but she was also a unique and beautiful being. And in that moment, she knew that she would never apologize for being true to herself.
